“The acceleration isn’t important. It’s being able to reproduce that acceleration five, six, seven times,” said Audi Sport product marketing boss Stefan Holischka, alluding to some electric performance cars. There is also all-wheel steering, all of which creates a “sports car-like agility and precision,” said Audi. “The 96kWh battery is the perfect combination for performance, charging time and range,” added Holischka.
The centre console and the freestanding instrument cluster seem to float. Light colours in the top section of the cockpit and the gradually darker gradation through to the floor area make the car feel bigger. There are sport seats inspired by motor racing in both rows which provide maximum lateral support even while cornering at speed.
Audi did state the vehicle should accelerate from 0-62 in around 3.5 seconds before going on to 124.3 mph in just over 12 seconds. The top speed is regulated at 149.1mph to maximize the range. The range of the car is said to do 248 miles before needing to charge, its all powered by a 434 motor which is equivalent to 590 hp.
